The aim of the project is to give students from developed countries an experience of the slums and see how difficult the living-conditions are for a lot of people in the world. But also see that it is possible to do a lot, with simple means only. And that each small step forward means a lot.
Most students stay for two weeks only and will probably not change the world during those weeks (sorry..). Still we believe the project is important to both the local community and the participants. Participants acquire experience and knowledge. In return, they can offer their skills, they can raise the awareness and knowledge in their home countries and hopefully contribute directly through donating medical equipment or money.
It is important that the students visiting take initiatives by themselves to take part in the work at the clinics. The people working there have a heavy work-load. Anyhow, we are continuously working to improve the participation-program of the visiting students. Welcome as a volunteer! Quicklinks
