Situation
After construction of the school about 10 years ago, all classrooms were equipped with wooden shelves. Most of these are now broken or extremly fragile.
Why is this?
The shelves were made of wood which is the favourite food of termites. Termites caused the shelves to rot and break. Schoolchildren and the weight of the books do the rest.
What did we do?
Construction of sturdy, stone-built shelves, as seen in another project. They wont mind termites and kids *smiley winking*
