Heavy rainfall resulted in floods after the severe drought of last winter. The soil was extremely dry and unable to absorb the heavy rains after it hardly rained at all for 3 years (with severe crop failures). This is how the village looked like:
The septic tanks of two toilet blocks were washed out and the toilet houses collapsed. Sadly, those toilets were irreparably damaged.
A school without functioning toilets would be a hygienic disaster. Therefore, new toilet blocks have been constructed, this time with a solid brick septic tank.

The “opening” was a big deal for the kids *smiley smiling* Of course, there is no water flush, but a clean toilet is a great and necessary place to have.
